I'll send you the first off the press of my new bumper sticker idea: Gotta Jibboo?

I am up in Portland, OR. I thought about The Dead @ Shoreline. I'm waiting to see from both Dead and Phish to see if they have Summer Tours out West. Will keep you posted if I go to Bay Area shows.

93-94 would have been prime time to see Phish, especially in NE. I caught them 96-01, the last show was a barn burner at Deer Creek.

My favorite venue for the NW. Simply said, it is stunning. My wife and I saw them there in 97. Great show when Kodura turned off the stage lights and they jammed under the stars. http://bt.etree.org/details.php?id=521883

One concert buddy is moving to Colorado and the other was laid off a few weeks ago. Wanna meet up at the Phish shows or are you already going with a crew?

Edit: I didn't realize the show was sold out, but should have guessed. If you do buy tickets, I have always been happy with the lawn. If you get there early you can sit on some nice big boulders and the lawn right behind the assigned seat section. Let me know if you score and extra and I can pay if you want to have another in your pack.

I really hope they practice this time.....I will never forget the interview that Trey said when they came back from the "hiatus", they did not even practice for the tour (and it showed).....That is a slap in the face to the fans..

The thing I want to see is the lot scence....I saw the final Alpine run in 04 and it was a pathetic mess of kids in their early 20's just falling all over the place...
I really hope everyone has gotten a little bit wiser and things will be more tame in 09.....But this is Phish we are talking about, so I'm sure "Fluffheads" will be everywhere..

This is the same thing that scares the hell out of me about the Dead tour this Spring. Sure, alot of folks will be mellow and respectful, but you're also going to have the crowd of younger folks who are there just because of the "legend" and will be ingesting as many pharmaceuticals as they can get their hands on. 20 years ago I could handle it, but now I'm just a bored, lazy, jobless dumbfuck and not sure I want to drop alot of cash only to be puked on in a parking lot.

I have never been puked on at a Phish show.....by anyone other than myself anyways. I am glad to hear they're doin it, I think I may catch the Roo show but the Ashvegas show is gonna be a TOUGH ticket. I would LOVE to see that small venue get the roof BLOWN off, but your gonna have to have BIG BUCKS to get those tix.

You could always go to this - think auditions are taking place on youtube as I cut and paste from www.jambase.com:

Led Zeppelin Looking To Record Album and Tour Without Robert Plant

Led Zeppelin
Reports have surfaced that Led Zeppelin is looking to tour and record a new album without original pipes man Robert Plant. According to a report on NME, Jimmy Page's manager Peter Mensch confirmed that the band would move forward if they could find the appropriate singer.

"Jimmy Page has been playing guitar professionally since he was 16-years-old. Jimmy Page likes being a musician. That's what he does! He doesn't want to be a race car driver or a solicitor," said Mensch during an interview with 6music."

"So they [Page, Jones and drummer Jason Bonham] did the show [at London's O2 Arena in 2007] with Robert Plant; they had a really good time rehearsing, the three of them, before Robert showed up. And they decided that if they could find a singer that they thought would fit their bill – whatever their bill was at this stage in their career – that they'd make a record and go on tour" said Mensch.

Mensch refused to comment on who Plant's replacement might be.

Robert Plant confirmed last year that he was no interested in touring with Led Zeppelin

Only reunion I'd pay good money to see, Talking Heads, will never happen. oh well....

so bluedevil, we have discussed the zep reunion before but I forget seeing anything regarding who owns the band name and who has the rights to tour...

does page own the band name, etc., etc.?

or will plant be making some $$$ by letting them use the name?

or will there be some fun floyd, ccr lawsuites?

or maybe it will be like the current stuff going on with SSD; where the springa guy is touring while Barile, et al. are looking to stop them anyway they can...btw: funny stuff...

anyway, just hope they practice since there were more than a few years where page was still a guitarist but the git-box was collecting dust. But from what I have seen and heard, page is into it so the quality level of playing shouldn't be a problem.

and it is sad regarding the heads...going to listen to that fine band now...

I'm not sure who owns what rights re Led Zep, but I do think from a practical standpoint it would be really silly for themselves to bill themselves as any form of Zep w/o Plant. Recall that when Page and Plant toured together they didn't use the name - don't know if that was a John Paul Jones issue or not. Anyway, from what little I heard from the London show, it sounded remarkably good.

Still pissed Strummer had to go and die before that reunion. Then again, was lucky to see the clash play a bunch of shows when I had the energy and intesity to match the music. Now it's Lawrence Welk reruns on PBS...

thanks...

it would look bad if they didn't use the zep name during page and plant but pulled it out for this tour...

please don't mention the clash and touring, one of my favorite bands and one of the few acts that I never got to see, outside of the ruttles...

At least I got to see him with the mescaleros a few times...good stuff, but of course it wasn't the same...

For me the singer makes the band. If I don't like his or her voice then it's all over. I can't begin to think of Led Zeppelin with Robert Plant.

Did any of the other bandmates sing lead on the Led Zep songs?

True, if the rest of the band blows, well, then you might as well go a cappella. And get an add into the paper for a new band.

10 dates?, what the hell. and these guys are somewhat relatively young. Even the dead (not somewhat relatively young) can muster up 19 dates.

Rehab can wear you down. I'm guessing this is the first leg. Second leg will be out in the wild and wooly west.
